I was a participant in last night’s inaugural “Social Networking Zero” event organised by digital media guru Matt Pallatt. Matt wasn’t in to the other industry get-togethers so, unlike many, he decided to put his money where his mouth is and start up an one of his own.
Not knowing what to expect I turned up with an open mind.
Given Matt had managed to find another recruitment agency as a sponsor I was assigned the alias of a bus driven with an outside interest in digital media - I role I more than flourished in!
Anyhow, a couple of free drinks (thank you very much Hotfoot recruitment), lots of fellow design geeks and one or two interesting freelance developers - that might be able to help me on a up coming project - made it well worth the trip.
Leeds could do with more of this sort of thing. Relaxed, after work drinks with a bunch of people you know you’ll have something in common with, so big thumbs up to Matt for organising it and roll on the next one!
Tomorrow is TEDxManchester - the final and biggest of the TEDxNorth events. I’ll be there no doubt letting those of you reading this know about it.
