2010 Leeds Uni Grad show.
I managed to get along to this year’s degree show at the University of Leeds last night, enjoyed the obligatory “glass” of wine and found some pretty interesting work.

First stop for me, obviously, was the design degree show and there seemed to be a bit of a different layout to previous years.
Each student had a small board each (pictured above) and most seemed to go with a single project - presumably their best/favourite piece from the course.
There were the usual homages to Helvetica, obscure illustrations and other, more commercially appealing samples such as this one by Elaine Cowen:

Graphics wasn’t the only discipline on show though so while I was there got got the opportunity to see some budding talent from the textiles, fashion and fine art courses:

All in all, a really nice way to spend an hour or so and potentially discover some of our industries future talents.
The Degree show ran from 07/06/10 and closes this evening. It’s free to get in and entry is any time between 9:00 - 17:00.
